January 17, 2020

Four our third installment of Sonic Curiosities we invited artists Nicolai Vesterkær Krog, Jeremy Coubrough, Julio, Lugon, Michael Tuttle, Tat Sham, Hyewon Sik, and Eakle Wu.

You can read more about each artist below:

Julio Lugon
Julio Lugon is an interdisciplinary artist whose work focuses on sound and includes installation, electronics, biodata translation and graphics. First award winner of bonn hoeren ́s Sonotopia 2019 with a work that tries to activate fictional collaborations between people and non-human beings. He also is an experimental musician, DJ and host of the online Radio Jurassic.

Michael Tuttle
Michael Tuttle is a composer, sound artist, and bassist. As a sound artist he has departed from more traditional concepts of melody and harmony and focuses more on texture and structure. This is accomplished by the juxtaposition of manipulated field recording with acoustic and synthetic musical instruments. Using this technique the listener is subjected to sound combinations that evoke emotional responses based not only on musical cultural norms but also deeper obfuscated stimuli.
